The University intends to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Embassy the Islamic Republic of Iran. This comes after a prelude meeting between the Principal, College of Architecture and Engineering, Prof. Peter Ngau and the Islamic Republic of Iran Cultural Counsellor, Mr. Mahmoud Majlesain on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Iranian Cultural Embassy.
While giving his remarks, the Cultural Counsellor assured that the embassy will fully support the university’s quest to establish strong links and partnerships with universities in his home country. He also hoped that some few scholars from UoN would make a maiden visit to Iran in order to establish areas of possible collaboration with the more that seventy public and over hundred private learning institutions in the country. He pointed out Shahid Beheshti and Shiraz Universities as some on the top universities in which UoN could be interested in partnering with.
Prof. Ngau, while giving his remark said that the university was very much interested in doing research collaborations with Iranian universities. He added that some of the key areas of interest that they seek to partner in includes; architecture, petroleum, chemical and manufacturing engineering.
The Cultural Council aims to enhance cultural exchange programs, promotion of Iranian Cultural activities (Art and Culture, films, education) and understanding between the friendly states of Kenya and Iran.
