The following information constitute of the admission critera and fees application to the various undergraduate programmes and diploma coursesin the College of Architecture and Engineering.

School of Engineering

Courses offered

Bsc. Civil Engineering - F16, Bsc. Electrical Engineering - F17, Bsc.Mechanical Engineering - F18 Bsc. Geospatial Engineering - F19, Bsc. Environmental. & Biosystems - F21

Minimum Admission Requirements:

  1. KCSE (Mean C+) and C+ passes in each of the four cluster subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or any Group III, IV and V; or
  2. Advanced Level Certificate: Two principal passes in Maths and Physics with subsidiary pass in Chemistry. For B.Sc. in Geospatial Engineering, a subsidiary pass in Geography is acceptable in lieu of Chemistry; or
  3. Ordinary Diploma from a recognized institution with Credit Passes in the relevant subjects; or
  4. Higher National Diploma from a recognized institution with passes in relevant subjects; or
  5. Technical/Science Diploma from a recognized institution with Credit Passes in Mathematics and Chemistry from a recognized institution; or
  6.  B.Sc or B.Ed (Science) from a recognized institution; or other appropriate technical qualification at degree level.
  7. And any other relevant criteria listed in the General Admissions Criteria.

Minimum Admission Requirements:

  1. KCSE (Mean grade C+) with passes of C+ or higher in at least one subject in each
    of the cluster groups:-
    • English/Kiswahili,
    • Mathematics/Commerce/Economics or Biology or physics or chemistry
    • History and Government, Geography, Islamic Education Social Edu. and Ethics, Hindu Edu.
    • Home Science, Art and Design, Woodwork, Metal work, Building Construction, Drawing and Design, Computer Aided design, or
    • Design related digital Technology
  2. International Baccalaureate (IB) or equivalent; or
  3. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KNEC) or equivalent, holders of 2 Principal passes, one in Art, if Art is not one of the two principal passes, candidates must have obtained CREDIT pass at KCSE or equivalent examination in Art; or
  4. Diploma holders of Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) in Art, Design, Computer Aided Design or design related digital technology or equivalent, with a credit pass at KCS or equivalent examination in Art.
  5. And any other relevant criteria listed in the General Admissions Criteria.

Minimum Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes

    • B.Arch. Stud./Arch.: Physics or Chemistry or Biology or Physical Sciences or Biological Sciences; and Art & Design or Drawing & Design or Building Construction or Music or Economics or Geography or Social Ed. & Ethics or History and Government.
    • B.Real Estate/B.A. Planning: Economics or Commerce or Accounts or Physics or Chemistry or Biology; and Geography or Agriculture or Building Construction or Drawing and Design.
    • B.A. Quantity Surveying/ B. Construction Management: Physics or Physical Sciences; and Geography or Accounts or Commerce or Economics or Building Construction or Drawing and Design.
  2. Advanced Level Certificate (EAACE or KACE) with two Principal passes; or
  3. Higher National Diploma in Science courses, Education (Science), Computer Studies, Statistics or Applied Sciences; or
  4. A Degree from a recognized university.
  5. And any other relevant criteria listed in the General Admissions Criteria.

Minimum Admission Requirements for Dip. in Estate Agency and Property Management:

  1. KCSE (Mean Grade C) or equivalent with minimum C in Mathematics and English; or
  2. KCE (Div. II) with credits in Mathematics and English or Div. III plus a certificate in an equivalent professional training course.
  3. KACE with at least one principal pass or equivalent
    qualification
  4. Degree and Diploma holders in respective areas of study.
  5. And any other relevant criteria listed in the General Admissions Criteria.
